The colonist had a choice, join the foreign rule (what they thought would be the safe side) or become a Patriot (a rebel) and fight for our country to be free from foreign rule. The progressives were the Patriots; they won.
The Civil War ended slavery in the United States. Brother against brother, father against son but again the progressives won.
Civil Rights movement, Women’s rights, Roe vs. Wade, Gay Rights; progressives won and are fighting on for more. I won’t associate with the Democrat or Republican party, I have more of a libertarian view but won’t associate with them either. This country, like every time prior the Republicans are the least progressive. They want to take us back to 50’s. The time where the “white male” had all the power. The don’t want progress, I am not even sure what they stand for other than nostalgia. Democrats pretend they stand for progress but can’t ever get anything done. Yes, partially because of the Conservatives are obsessed with the cock block.
The real issue is that people are apathetic. We are the ones that must fight for progress, always have been. We MUST march because that is how our voices are heard, even if you are burning your bra or wearing a vagina hat.
We have the power! Now use it. Be an actual Patriot and fight peacefully for progress and be on the right side of history. Because political parties are the root of disgust and pain, they complicate things by fighting each other and making those that categorize themselves, focus on bullshit problems created by politicians. Progressives are ALWAYS on the right; the just side of history. Progressive is NOT a political party, it is a state of mind. Where you focus on what is right, not what some power-hungry person in Washington D.C. told you or the latest story on Facebook with zero sources. Remember, the main stream media spins things for money. The facts are real you just must do your own research to put things in actual order. I digress, Republicans aren’t patriots. They are the aggressors, the category of dangerous nostalgia and corruption. Democrats are full of scandals and corruption and fake progressive speak, not patriots. Libertarians, if you MUST pick one and can’t stand being an Unaffiliated like myself, pick this one. This is the NO FUCKS GIVEN political party. Independents like Bernie are awesome too, SOMETIMES. They have the right ideas but have NO power in Washington.
OKAY I said I would digress, STOP giving away your power. Fight for what is right. If you fight for what is right and just you will always come out on the right side of history. Start by disengaging political parties and be on the side the real America. The land of the free and home of the brave. That America.
